Description | Shooting the Impossible: The Power of Pre-Visualized ImagesAdventure photography can be opportunistic, fuelled by the adrenaline of the moment and the desire to document a journey. But, for Paul Zizka, adventure photography has become something more: an opportunity for play and pre-visualization, and a process where imagination means real-time conditions to conjure and capture “the impossible”. Paul Zizka is an award-winning mountain landscape and adventure photographer and photo educator based in Banff, Canada. A prolific adventurer, Paul’s journey to capture the “under-documented” has taken him to all seven continents. He is frequently published in National Geographic, Wall Street Journal, Alpinist, Maclean’s, Canadian Geographic, Islands, and Outdoor Photographer, and has four coffee-table photography books. His client list includes Canon, Apple, Dell, Arc’Teryx, Panasonic and MEC. In his latest project, Cryophilia, Paul is documenting vanishing ice around the world to showcase its beauty and raise awareness of our changing landscapes. In this workshop, Paul will pull back the curtain on some of his most memorable photographs, what it takes to create stand-out images, the resources he uses to plan and execute them, and the impact these photographs have made in both his business and his life as an artist. Consider this your backstage pass to the intricacies of Paul’s most cutting-edge imagery. |
